2022 Le Gras Baril

A blend of Tannat, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon all spontaneously fermented.  Tannat at 50% is the dominant variety.  Rich color, distinctive tannins and a touch of oak allow for the authentic representation of our soils and climate.  The 2022 vintage was characterized by greater rain fall and generally larger berries.  The humid conditions put pressure on the vines and the resulting fruit plays more in the direction of elegance rather than power.  After aging as individual lots for 4 months, the wines were blended to a large format Italian Botte for further refinement and integration before bottling in July of 2023

Blend: 50% Tannat, 25% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
